3 Features in Rheem Products that Prevent Scalding to Ensure Your Safety

| Saturday May 23, 2020

What’s the worst thing that could possibly happen in the showers? Other than running out of hot water, getting scalded would be the next thing that comes to mind.
Taking a steamy rinse can be one of the best parts of the day, and since you spend a significant amount of time in the showers, skin-friendly hot water should be at the ready whenever you want it. On top of that, you’d want to remove any nagging worries that you may have about possibly scalding yourself during shower time.
With close to 100 years of history and experience, Rheem is undisputedly an expert in water heating, not just in South East Asia, but all over the world. And we make sure that that won’t be a problem with our storage water heaters, as well as our instant water heaters. Here’s what you need to know about the three safety features that we have in our products that prevent scalding and make it safe and comfortable for you and your family during shower time.

Temperature and Pressure Relief Valve

Homeowners may not know, but temperature and pressure relief valves are one of the most important safety features for a storage water heater. When water is heated in the tank, temperature and pressure tend to build up. That’s where the temperature and pressure valves come into play. Built-up pressure and temperature are automatically released to protect the water tank from overheating or having excessive pressure. The Temperature and Pressure Relief Valve will also allow users to manually release excessive temperature and pressure, making it safer for your home.

Automatic Heating Cut-off

When you’re having a happy, healthy shower, the last thing you’d want is to be surprised by a rush of piping hot water. To protect users against scalding hot water in the showers, Rheem products are pre-programmed to prevent overheating. Heating is cut off when the water temperature reaches beyond a pre-set heating temperature, which could be scalding, to ensure the highest safety for you and your family.

System That Allows Temperature to Stay Constant

Ever encountered sudden hot or cold water while you’re happily showering? Temperature fluctuations, which usually happen when another water source in your home is turned on, means that water pressure is affected and that causes the temperature change. You will then have to re-adjust the temperature of the heater to get it to the desired temperature.
Rheem’s instant water heaters, particularly the Rheem Prestige Platinum Instant Water Heater, are specially pre-programmed to ensure outgoing water temperature will be at your desired setting, no matter what temperature incoming water is at. For example, if the incoming temperature is 25°C or 30°C and the preset outgoing temperature is set at 35°C, the water heater will add or reduce 5°C to make sure the outgoing temperature will be at a comfortable 35°C.
